Our personal Oxford must. We stop at Volta every single time we’re in town and strongly suggest you do the same! Grab a gyro, a dip plate and a margarita (or two) and settle into the laid-back patio atmosphere. If you only take one food recommendation from us, make it this one.

If you come to Mississippi expecting Southern comfort food, this is your spot. Located right on the Square, Ajax serves the good stuff: fried catfish, chicken and dumplings, meatloaf, mac and cheese, and all the sides your heart desires. Calories consumed during wedding weekends do not count.

McEwen’s is a cozy spot on the Square known for its fresh seafood, steaks, great cocktails, and a menu that feels upscale without being stuffy. It’s perfect for a nicer dinner while you’re in town. Our go-to's? Fried Brussles to start, Sea Bass for dinner, and anything that is ever on the dessert menu. OH- and their Sunday brunch? My gosh. No notes. Feel free to thank us later. :)

Head upstairs, order a cocktail, and snag a spot on the balcony overlooking the Square. It’s one of the best places in Oxford for people-watching, sipping something cold, and convincing yourself you could absolutely move here.

Katie's very favorite breakfast spot in Oxford, conveniently located on the Square. Think freshly baked pastries, breads, biscuits, and really delicious coffee in a quirky, cozy little space perfect for catching up with anyone your heart holds dear. Everything about it feels like the best kind of hug. Go early- Oxford knows how good it is for the belly (and soul), too.

Located just a street over from the Plein Air community in Taylor, MS, this legendary hole-in-the-wall is famous for its fried catfish, live music, and walls covered in decades of signatures. It’s casual, wonderfully Southern, and about as Mississippi as it gets.

The heart of Oxford and where you’ll probably end up spending more time than you planned. Stroll around the historic courthouse, pop into the cute boutiques, peruse the legendary Square Books, grab a drink on any balcony with an open spot, and soak up the scenery. We promise you'll be charmed. (Yes- that includes you, Georgia Bulldogs!)

You can’t come to Oxford without seeing Ole Miss. Take a walk around the beautiful campus and, most importantly, wander through The Grove- the famous 10-acre green space at the center of Ole Miss' tailgating tradition. It’s much quieter (but just as enchanting & surreal) without 100,000 football fans passing out cold beer and chicken tenders nearby. (Although, we do hate you'll miss that part- guess you'll just have to visit again soon!)

Step into a little piece of Oxford history at the former home of Nobel Prize–winning author William Faulkner. Tour the house, wander the grounds beneath the towering trees, and enjoy one of the prettiest and most peaceful corners of town. Literary obsession not required.
